We started with two jet skis and a dock in 2015. Ten years later, we run Miami's most-reviewed watersports fleet.
How it started
I bought two jet skis in 2015 and started renting them off a marina in Miami. No website, no booking system, just a phone number on a flyer and a lot of time on the water. Most days I was the one driving the safety boat, loading life jackets, and answering calls between rides.
People kept coming back. They told their friends. We added a third jet ski, then a pontoon boat. By 2018 we had a real fleet and actual employees. I still remember the first week we had more bookings than I could handle alone.
Today Funwaves runs 15+ vehicles on Biscayne Bay, including jet skis, boats, ATVs, Polaris Slingshots, and jet cars. We have a crew of 10+ people who care about this as much as I do. The operation looks different from those early days, but the idea is the same: get people on the water and make sure they have a good time.
After 30,000+ rides and 790+ Google reviews, I still go out on the bay most days. It never gets old.
What we actually care about
Safety equipment on every ride
USCG-approved life jackets, full safety briefing before you leave the dock, and a chase boat within radio distance at all times.
Bilingual crew
Our team speaks English and Spanish. We work with tourists, locals, bachelor parties, families, you name it.
Maintained between rides
Every jet ski and boat gets inspected and cleaned between rentals. We don't cut corners on maintenance.
