We started with two jet skis and a dock in 2015. Ten years later, we run Miami's most-reviewed watersports fleet.
How it started
We started with two jet skis at a marina in Miami in 2015. No website, no booking system, just a phone number on a flyer and a lot of time on the water. In the early days the same crew driving the safety boat was loading life jackets and answering the phone between rides.
People kept coming back. They told their friends. We added a third jet ski, then a pontoon boat. By 2018 the fleet had grown and a real team had joined. The first week we had more bookings than we could handle alone, we hired help.
Today Funwaves runs 15+ vehicles on Biscayne Bay, including jet skis, boats, ATVs, Polaris Slingshots, and jet cars. We have a crew of 10+ people who care about this as much as they did on day one. The operation looks different from those early days, but the idea is the same: get people on the water and make sure they have a good time.
After 30,000+ rides and 790+ Google reviews, we are still out on the bay most days. It never gets old.
What we actually care about
Safety equipment on every ride
USCG-approved life jackets, full safety briefing before you leave the dock, and a chase boat within radio distance at all times.
Bilingual crew
Our team speaks English and Spanish. We work with tourists, locals, bachelor parties, families, you name it.
Maintained between rides
Every jet ski and boat gets inspected and cleaned between rentals. We don't cut corners on maintenance.
